About Leanna Broom
Leanna Broom has been practising Natural Medicine for over twenty years. She works both intuitively and scientifically, having a sound scientific background, and has a great knowledge of the energetics of food, herbal medicine and supplements and interactions of all substances and their constituents.
Leanna was taught Yoga, breathing exercises and Mantra meditation by Indian teachers thirty years ago, she then taught Yoga to beginners, advanced and ashtangha. Each student had his or her own Hatha Asana programme.
She ran a Whole food restaurant in the centre of Exeter, Devon and her awareness of clean and nourishing food for a healthy body fired up her enthusiasm to this day. Research on Nutrition is ongoing.
Out of these experiences Leanna found her passion for herbs. Not only did they smell and taste wondrous, they could heal. ‘Gods Pharmacy’
She commenced study in the late eighties with ‘The Selfheal School’ formerly The ‘Osho School in Norfolk’ run by Jill Rosemary Davies and her life partner Nitya. The school is affiliated to the ‘Dr Christopher School of Healing, Utah, USA. And the The College of Natural Healing California run by Richard Schultz. There she learnt about herbs, hands on and developed Intuition in the use of them as well as the knowledge. Later Leanna taught at the school.
She then went on to train with The School of Phytotherapy (training is along the same lines as a G.P.) This was in Royal Tunbridge Wells in South East England. Leanna studied with them for six years and in 1993 she graduated with the School of Phytotherapy and then graduated with the School of Traditional Chinese Herbal Medicine in 1996. For the latter she studied at Regent’s College, London and then later spent time in Nanjing China to complete her clinical training.
Leanna is a member of the National Institute of Medical Herbalists and the Register of Chinese Herbal Medicine and is a member of the Association of Master Herbalists and has served on the council.
In 2000 after spending three years in America researching, working and living with Native American healers. Leanna gained a PhD in Herbology specializing in the energetics of herbs, spices, foods and supplements for Skin problems, Women’s health, and Unusual Disease Conditions of the body. Leanna studied the problem of addiction whilst in the U.S.A. and helps many people with this problem here in the U.K.
Local G.Ps. refer patients to her to help with their skin ailments and women’s health issues with excellent results.
She is available to deliver lectures anywhere in the world on ‘The Energetics of Herbs and Spices for medicinal and nutritional uses’ The lecture is accompanied by slides of the plants and the knowledge shared is a lifetime of experience.
Leanna has a diploma in Holistic Massage and Hawaiian Lomi-Lomi massage for pregnancy. She combines Ayurvedic Massage with the Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage techniques, and intuitive bodywork for energy balancing, The techniques are used to detoxify physical and emotional toxins and to rebalance the body by dissipating stress. Leanna holds a diploma in Eastern Facial Massage using Indian and Japanese techniques for anti-ageing.
She has been co-ordinating for Welsh Herbalists for some eight years
In N.I.M.H. She campaigns for Natural Medicine and writes short articles about herbs and their uses to share the knowledge.
In 2007 Leanna studied Transcendental Meditation with the Maharishi Foundation and meditates daily.
